Making Inclusive Employment Work

employment conference banner photoLast month, our Employment Supervisor attended a Pre-Conference workshop in Richmond BC, as part of the 2017 Inclusion BC Conference, Inspired By Love.

This workshop was focused on Inclusive Employment. It brought together service providers from across the province to discuss the successes, the challenges, and the long term goals of inclusive employment for people with diversabilities. Many difficult points, impassioned opinions, and personal stories were shared, leaving attendees with renewed inspiration toward our shared goals: To ensure that individuals with diversabilities have access to paid employment by breaking down barriers and combating stigma; to reduce the unemployment rate among people with disabilities; to ensure that all individuals who are willing and able to join the labour force are allowed to access employment and be protected and fairly compensated as workers and contributing members of society.
